question about using the roots of Solomon's Seal

My question is:
Before chopping up the fresh roots of Solomon's Seal, should all the tiny hairs be cut off first, or do they have healing properties as well?

False Solomon's Seal

The hairs on the rhyizomes can be scrubbed, cut off or left on. Please be absolutely positive you have true solomon's seal and not false solomon's seal as the false variety is poisonous. When collecting any wild plant make sure you make a "without a doubt" identification.

One of the best identification books I've run across is Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants by "Wildman" Steve Brill. A must have for any forager!
