Natural food remedies start with learning the nutrient content of food. You don't have to study and get a degree in nutrition because it's actually quite simple!
There are, of course, the plants, animals and minerals that are the cycle of life in our universe. These are the simple foods we were meant to eat to live and thrive on our planet.
Deep down, most of us realize that food and nutrition are major players in our health but our world has been flooded so many cheap, highly processed and convenience foods that few people even think about what they are eating.
When you start reading ingredient labels you'll discover just how difficult it is to avoid chemical additives and processed foods. It will also become blatantly obvious why so many people are sick and diseased!
Simple Natural Food Remedies
An easy starting point for better nutrition is to replace some of the foods you use on a regular basis. Yes, most of these items are going to cost much more but take a look at what you spend on health care! Remember that your body is designed to heal itself if it receives the nutrients it needs. Natural food remedies start with simply eating real, whole food!
SALT - Get rid of that highly processed table salt that the whole family uses with something better! Replace it with a natural sea salt that has many other minerals your body needs. Learn more about salt here!
SUGAR - Refined sugar is void of all nutrients, consequently it causes the body to deplete its own stores of various vitamins, minerals and enzymes. Replace that refined sugar with unprocessed raw sugar or better yet, honey, agave nectar or stevia. Try to avoid and find an alternative to corn syrup!
SYRUP - Buy 100% pure maple syrup instead of the cheap pancake syrup that's probably in the fridge. Go take a look at the ingredients now and you'll find the first one listed is high fructose corn syrup. This is another form of nutrient devoid, highly processed sugar. Yes, pure maple syrup is expensive but it is also one of mother earths natural foods and is full of vitamins and minerals! You can also easily make homemade fruit syrup yourself!
VANILLA EXTRACT - Again, pure vanilla extract is going to be more expensive but the flavor and benefits far outweigh the artificial, lab produced flavoring.
BUTTER vs MARGARINE - Given a choice between the two I'd much rather eat something from a cow rather than a chemist. In fact margarine is so unnatural that I suggest you try this experiment. On a warm day take a stick of margarine and put it outside or in your garage. Leave it there for several days and you'll find it hasn't changed a bit. It doesn't melt, it doesn't mold and no other living creature finds it appetizing. Makes you wonder, huh?
