Using a lot less salt helps with reducing under-eye puffiness because salt retains water. Drinking plenty of water helps keep the skin hydrated too. Caffeine actually causes dehydration and can show up under the eyes as dark circles. Lack of sleep is a factor as well. Sleeping with an extra pillow under the head actually helps drain some of the fluid away from the eye bags.
A slice of cucumber over each closed eye is great for helping to achieve a fresh look around the eyes. Rest for 20 minutes with the cucumber. Follow this with lying a light bag of ice or ice pack over the eyes. Be sure to line the ice pack with a light towel so you don't freeze the delicate skin around the eyes.
When applying foundation the rule is first the foundation followed by the concealer. Make sure the concealer is a shade lighter than the foundation. Apply the concealer in the shape of a triangle with the bottom point of the triangle below the top two points under the lower eyelids.
Highlight your cheekbones with a luminous powder. This brings other people's eyes to that area.
If you really want to lighten the skin under the eyes, try mixing Turmeric and honey and apply under the eyes at night on a clean face. :)
