HOMEMADE FACIAL RECIPES
These homemade facial recipes are simple and exceptionally nourishing for your skin. Anytime you can use natural ingredients instead of chemically laden store bought cosmetics, you're one step ahead of the game. Not only are they much better for your skin, they're very inexpensive also!
SIMPLE HOMEMADE FACEPACK
Ingredients:
- Your choice of organic fruit and/or vegetable (see below for your skin type)
- 1 teaspoon/5 ml yogurt (for oily skin) or sweet almond oil (for dry skin) You can also use honey for either skin type!
Mash up the fruit or vegetable in a non-metallic bowl. A pestle and mortar works great for this! Strain off excess liquid and add the yogurt or almond oil. Spread the mixture all over your face and neck (avoiding getting too close to the eyes) then lie down for 10 minutes. Massage and rinse off the home face mask with cool water.
Use the chart below to choose the correct fruit or veggie:
NORMAL SKIN
- Avocado
- Banana
- Grape (always mix grapes with something else - They can have a peeling effect)
- Peach
DRY SKIN
- Avocado
- Banana
- Carrot
- Melon
- Pear
OILY OR COMBINATION SKIN
- Cabbage
- Cucumber
- Lemon
- Pear
- Strawberries
- Tomatoes
- Tangerine
MATURE SKIN
- Apple
- Avocado
- Banana
- Potato
BLEMISHED SKIN
To cool your skin use cucumbers or strawberries!
HOMEMADE OATMEAL MASK
- 2 teaspoons/10 ml finely ground oatmeal
- 2 teaspoons powdered orange peel
- Yogurt, almond oil or honey
Mix the oatmeal and orange peel then add enough oil, honey or yogurt to make a paste. Leave on for 10 minutes then rinse with cool water.
HOMEMADE FACIAL USING EGG
- Avocado
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 egg white (for oily skin) or 1 whole egg (for dry skin)
Mix all together well and apply to face and neck. Leave on 10 minutes and rinse with cool water.
