Here you'll find one or more home remedies for RLS here that should give you relief from those twitching legs!
There is no reason to explain restless leg symptoms because the name says it all. Anyone who has experienced that maddening "creepy crawly" sensation in their legs when they lay down knows just how miserable it can be.
Though no one can has said for sure what causes restless leg syndrome it is known that it can be directly related to vitamin and mineral imbalances.
Home Remedies for Leg Cramps
Many people have gotten great relief by taking a daily magnesium supplement. Each day take 500 milligrams of magnesium. Magnesium, calcium and potassium work hand in hand with each other so taking 800 to 1000 milligrams of both these other minerals would be beneficial also. (Magnesium deficiency may also be the cause of leg cramps and the painful charley horse!)
Another supplement for RLS is folic acid, a B vitamin that helps build red blood cells and in turn oxygenates the body.
Iron is another mineral that help hold oxygen in the body and helps muscles to work efficiently. Good food sources of iron include lean beef, wheat germ, dark green vegetables, liver, kidney beans and nettle.
Soak up the Minerals!
You can also absorb a good quanity of magnesium by taking a very warm bath with 2 cups of Epsom salt added. Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate and can be easily absorbed through the skin.
Dead Sea salt and Himalayan Pink salt also make great ingredients in salt bath recipes. Both are full of trace minerals which are great for your interior and exterior body parts.
Homeopathy Medicine for Restless Leg Symptoms
Homeopathic doctors recommend Causticum at the 12c dilution.
Another option is Tarentula hispanica at the 12c dilution. Take both as directed on bottles.
Stretching Home Remedies for RLS
If you get the twitching legs while laying in bed, stretch your legs out straight and point with your toes then with your heels. Stop if cramping occurs.
If this fails, get up and massage your calves then go for a short walk around the house. Take long steps and make sure to bend your knees to stretch the muscles.
