Organic coconut oil would be wonderful to make a homemade salve. It's a great skin moisturizer all by itself!

Do you know if you have to use wax with coconut oil as it does become solid when cool.

Unless you live where I do, using beeswax is probably necessary. If it's kept at rm temp or cooler, you can get away with minimal beeswax by adding organic unrefined cocoa butter to your salve as it is quite solid at room temps.

I use a mix of 50% organic raw coconut oil, 25% olive oil, and 25% organic raw Shea butter for my salves. I do put beeswax and vitamin E in all. It comes out phenomenal. FYI, a bit of rosemary essential oil improves the absorption of any salve.
