Charcoal for dying trees and lawn

We live in the tropics and are experiencing a fungal blight of local trees. I have been fertilizing sick and healthy trees with the hardwood ash from burnt fallen tree limbs. They sick tree seem to bounce right back and the healthy ones get healthier. Same goes for dead spots in the lawn. Spread ash around gardens to fertilize and keep slugs at bay. I also throw a handful in the cat box for better cat health. Take activated charcoal for food poisoning. Old school remedies are the bomb. Time to make soap!!!!
