Can I give my cat Solomon's Seal?

I have the plant in my garden and also a tincture. I've read that it is good for a cough that brings up only a small amount of thick white phlegm, which is what my cat is doing. Thank you!

Solomon's Seal and cats

That would be something I would ask a holistic vet but my first thought is absolutely NOT! Most plants from the lily family are very toxic to cats and solomon's seal happens to be a member.

I've given my cat small amounts of slippery elm or marshmallow root tea for hairballs which seems to help. Both are very soothing to the throat also.
