I accidently discovered a natural deodorizer for my kitchen. One morning before leaving on a vacation I spilled coffee beans on the floor, having swept them up I put them in a compost bucket to be dumped outside later. The compost bucket contained rind and seeds from a cantalope.
When I returned home 5 days later, remembering I forgot to dump the compost bucket, I expected a rotten-rancid smell from my kitchen. To my delight, my kitchen smelled like hazel nut coffee. Since then I place coffee beans in the bottom of my trash cans and other areas where odors linger.
